Warnings for blood, death, suicidal implications, incestuous implications if you squint and...Albedo

Red. There was so much red. It reminded him of Rubedo as it poured from his wounds. Rubedo, his precious other half. Was it not fitting that Albedo bled, with half of himself torn from this dimension? That his heart should beat futily against empty veins, now that half of it had been sliced away? Without his beloved twin, he was but half a man...no, less. He was a shell, nothing but a husk of his former self. But even that would crumble, as the beautiful red spilled forth, the lifeblood of an immortal. The red that had once been the only sign of color beneath the albino's skin gave way to the white pallor of death. What was it he had said, all those months ago? Red would become white? How true his words rang now...but at the same time, was not white becoming red? Yes, an acceptable death. It wasn't the same as following his Rubedo, but it was the rest he needed to be prepared to bear that wound when he woke. Was there a line that would suit the mockery this world made of death? There probably was, but he couldn't think of it. All he could think of was the beautiful red, and his beloved Rubedo.
